This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Ascend LLC (“Daily Ascend,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the Daily Ascend application and websites (the “Service”). We designed the Service to need as little of your data as possible — no account or sign-in is required to learn. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1 · Who we are (controller)

2 · Information we collect
We collect: (a) Usage data — lessons viewed, checks completed, streak and engagement signals, and feature interactions; (b) Diagnostics — crash, performance, and error data; (c) Purchase data — subscription status and transaction identifiers from Apple (we do not receive your full payment-card details); (d) Community content — comments and ratings you choose to post; (e) Device and technical data — a device-generated identifier used to keep your progress and entitlement working, device type, operating-system version, and, on our websites, IP address and general (city/region-level) location inferred from it; and (f) Communications — information you provide when you contact us. We do not request your name, email, or phone number inside the app.
3 · How we use information
We use information to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service; to deliver the daily lesson and community; to keep your streak and subscription working; to understand which lessons help; to prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; to comply with law; and to measure which campaigns bring committed learners. We do not sell your personal information.
4 · Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of: performance of a contract (to provide the Service); our legitimate interests (to secure, analyze, and improve the Service and to grow our audience) balanced against your rights; your consent (for example, tracking permission); and compliance with legal obligations.
5 · Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies
On our websites we use strictly necessary cookies and may use privacy-respecting analytics. In the app we use local storage and analytics/diagnostics SDKs (see Section 7). You can control cookies through your browser. Where required, we obtain consent for non-essential technologies.
6 · Advertising and tracking (ATT)
If we use Apple Search Ads or similar attribution, we will request your permission first through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You may decline, and you can change your choice in iOS Settings at any time. We honor the Global Privacy Control where required.
7 · How we share information
We share limited information with: (a) service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including Google Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, and the content/community database), and RevenueCat and Apple (subscription processing and status); (b) authorities or others where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service; and (c) a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We do not sell or “share” (as defined by California law) your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8 · Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements, after which we delete or aggregate it. Community posts persist within the day’s ephemeral structure and may be removed thereafter or upon valid request.
9 · Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10 · International transfers
We are based in the United States and process data there and in other countries where our providers operate. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
11 · Your rights — EEA/UK
Subject to law, you may request access to, rectification of, erasure of, restriction of, or portability of your personal data; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Contact hello@dailyascend.app to exercise these rights.
12 · Your rights — California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents may request to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the purposes, and the categories of recipients; to delete or correct personal information; and to opt out of sale/sharing (we do not sell or share). In the past 12 months we have collected the categories described in Section 2 (identifiers, internet/usage activity, commercial/purchase information, and inferences) for the business purposes in Section 3. We do not knowingly process sensitive personal information for purposes requiring an opt-out. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent. 13 · Children
The Service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
14 · Do Not Track
Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no common standard, we do not currently respond to them, but we honor recognized opt-out preference signals where legally required.
15 · Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party sites or services governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
16 · Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified in the app or by other reasonable means, with the effective date updated above.
